A Markov modulated Poisson model for software reliability

چکیده
In this paper we consider a latent Markov process governing the intensity rate of software failures. The latent process represents the behavior of the debugging operations over time and enables us to deal with the imperfect debugging scenario. We develop the Bayesian inference for the model and also introduce a method to infer the unknown dimension of the Markov process. We illustrate the implementation of our model and the Bayesian approach by using actual software failure data.

A Non-Homogeneous Markov Software Reliability Model with Imperfect Repair
This paper reviews existing Non-Homogeneous Poisson Process (NHPP) software reliability models and their limitations, and proposes a more powerful non-homogeneous Markov model for the fault detection/removal problem. In addition, this non-homogeneous Markov model allows for the possibility of a nite time to repair a fault and for imperfections in the repair process. The proposed scheme provides...
متن کاملBayesian analysis of software reliability models with reference prior
In this paper, we introduce a Bayesian analysis for non-homogeneous Poisson process in software reliability models. Posterior summaries of interest are obtained using Markov chain Monte Carlo methods. We compare the results obtained from using conjugate and reference priors. Model selection based on the prequential conditional predictive ordinates is developed.

متن کاملTraffic Modeling in PLC Networks using a Markov Fluid Model with Autocorrelation Function Fitting
In this paper, we present an analysis of VoIP (Voice over IP) traffic and data transfer using PLC (PowerLine Communications) network. We propose a model based on MMFM (Markov Modulated Fluid Models) for data and VoIP traffic in PLC networks. Simulations and comparisons were carried out to verify the efficiency of the proposed traffic model over the Poisson and MMPP (Markov Modulated Poisson Pro...
